Individual Clinical Art Therapy

Issues that can be addressed in clinical art therapy are similar to those challenges that would bring someone to seek help from any mental health professional.

To talk about whether art therapy may be right for you or your child, to schedule an appointment, or for more information call (817) 921-2401.

We receive referrals from individuals, teachers, parents, school counselors and other mental health professionals. We also receive referrals from and work with local educational, social service, mental health, medical, and other community agencies.

Medical receipts are provided so that individuals can file with their insurance providers. Medicaid, CHIPS and select private insurances accepted.  For those without insurance coverage, fees will be based on a sliding scale.

Being Me: A Self-Esteem Group
Mondays 4:30-5:30pm

In this supportive therapy group young teen and preteen girls (10-14 year olds) will use structured art activities and group discussions to address the challenges they face in regards to the social stigmas of body image and appearance and its effects on self-esteem. Medicaid, CHIPS and private insurance accepted. Call to schedule an appointment.

Painting the Possibilities: Pre-teen Social Skills Group
Mondays 4:30-5:30pm

In this supportive art therapy group pre-teen girls (8-12 year olds) participate in structured art activities designed to help them identify and express their feelings, enhance their social and problem solving skills, increase self-esteem, re-direct negative thinking, and help them to make positive choices. Medicaid, CHIPS and private insurance accepted. Call to schedule an appointment.

Painting the Possibilities: Teen Social Skills Group
Mondays 6:00-7:00pm

In this supportive art therapy group teens (13-17 year olds) participate in structured art activities designed to help them identify and express their feelings, enhance their social and problem solving skills, increase self-esteem, re-direct negative thinking, and help them to make positive choices. Drawing Away the Blues: Teen Depression Group
Mondays 6:00-7:00pm

In this supportive art therapy group teen girls (13-17 year olds) participate in structured art activities designed to help them identify and express their feelings, enhance their social and problem solving skills, increase self-esteem, re-direct negative thinking, and help them to make positive choices. Going from Sad to Glad: Women Experiencing Life Transitions
Tuesdays 12:00-1:30pm

In this group, participants will deal with common issues and life transitions facing mature women such as retirement, empty nests, relationship changes, loss of spouse, physical changes and daily life stressors through a variety of creative processes, including art and relaxation experiences. Private insurance accepted. Call to schedule an appointment.

Artistic Expressions: Young Adult Social Skills Group
Tuesdays 2:30-3:30pm

In this supportive art therapy group young adults (18-35 year olds) participate in structured art activities designed to help them identify and express their feelings, enhance their social and problem solving skills, increase self-esteem, and re-direct negative thinking. Medicaid and private insurance accepted. Call to schedule an appointment.

Coping Creatively: Women in Transition
Wednesdays 5:30-7:30pm

In this group, participants will deal with common issues facing women such as assertiveness in relationships (personal and professional), empowerment, setting boundaries, positive self-image, life transitions and daily life stressors through a variety of creative processes, including art and psychodramatic experiences. Healing Through Creative Art: Living With Chronic Pain
Wednesdays 6:15-7:30pm

Are you suffering from chronic disease or pain? Participating in expressive art can be a powerful process that enhances your quality of life. Join us for this 8-week group as we use the creative arts to reduce physical symptoms, achieve relaxation responses and to express unspoken feelings about chronic pain. Go With The Flow: Navigating Life's Ups & Downs
Thursdays 3:30-4:30pm

In this supportive art therapy group children (6-8 years old) participate in structured art activities designed to help them identify was to express their feelings, build self confidence, learn ways to reduce anxiety and conflict, and develop appropriate strategies for coping with life’s struggles.
