Healing Through Art
Our Mission and Vision
The Art Station mission is to provide a safe and encouraging environment where art making can be used to promote personal growth, uplift our hearts and help heal our minds and bodies.
Our vision is to provide, promote and advocate for the use of art therapy in the Fort Worth community. We believe that the process of art-making within the therapeutic relationship is an effective, and often necessary, method of treatment and strive to make art therapy services available to all people in need of such treatment.
The Art Station encourages and facilitates the participation of educators and counselors in art therapy training. We will act as a resource for information relating to art therapy and educate the public about art therapy.
What Does The Art Station Do?
Our mission is to provide a safe, supportive space for individuals to explore their emotions through the transformative power of art therapy. Whether you’re navigating personal challenges, seeking growth, or looking for community support, our trained art therapists are here to help. With individual, group, and community programs, we’re committed to fostering hope and emotional wellness. Join us as we continue to expand our services and make art therapy accessible to everyone in need.
Our Commitment to the Community
Our mission at The Art Station is to provide art therapy to support our clients’ healing and recovery goals. Frequently, this involves deep wounds that are not always visible. Our therapists meet clients where they are in their difficult life experiences, provide a safe place for clients to express deep and painful emotions through the process of creating art, when words are not adequate or accessible.
Being the only community-based non-profit organization with our specialized therapeutic services in Tarrant County since 2003, we are passionately committed to the pursuit of education and awareness of our community’s complex historical issues and present needs.
The Art Station acknowledges the trauma and deep wounds caused by injustices experienced by the Black community and other people of color. Your lives matter. And we want you to know that we believe real change is possible.
As an organization of mental health professionals, we value and uphold the importance of increased cultural sensitivity and competence to best serve every client and will continue to provide unconditional acceptance, respect and positive regard to all. We are committed to helping our community heal, and we are proactively looking for ways we can create change.
